Academic FacilitiesMoUs/GRPE:

The institute has experienced faculty recruited from highly reputed institutions within the country and abroad. Ever since its inception, IIT Ropar has developed excellent teaching and research facilities of international level with huge amount of research grants from funding agencies. MoUs/GRPE: The institute is actively involved in collaboration programmes with international organisations and universities. Under the MOU between IIT Ropar and Universities of UK, IIT Ropar is exploring the partnership with the following Universities: 1. Imperial College and 2. Aston University

IIT Ropar has signed GRPE (Glasgow Research Partnership in Engineering) with 1. University of Glasgow and 2. University of Strathclyde

Virtual Classrooms (NKN): Two virtual classrooms have been set up at IIT Ropar. NKN interconnect the institutions engaged in research, higher education and scientific development in the country. Besides all the classrooms are fitted with multimedia and Air conditioners.

Library:The central library of IIT Ropar is functioning as the primary information resource and repository for all the teaching and research activities at the institute. Apart from textbooks and recommended reading material prescribed for each course offered at the institute, the library houses a growing collection of research monographs, reports, multi volume reference books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias handbooks and so on. In addition, the library also facilitates access to a number of journals through its participation in consortia such as INDEST-AICTE. At present, users can consult more than 9500 books (available on shelves) and hundreds of journals (though electronic subscription). The library staff members are currently working towards automation of user services using LIBSYS 7 *(Web centric Library Management System) and other aspects of info management and settling up a digital library and e- resource centre.

Hostel Accommodation:

The Institute campus houses four hostels with latest and modern facilities: Jupiter, Mercury (Wing A & Wing B), Neptune Hostels for boys and Venus Hostel for girls. The hostels are well equipped for comfortable lodging and boarding of approximately 550 students. All hostels are provided with water coolers and RO systems. Each hostel has a common room that provides facilities for indoor recreation and games. The hostels are supported with generator power. The hostel complex also includes four shops that cater to the basic needs of the residents; washing machine facilities are also available to the students in the hostels.

Health Care :

The institute has allocated a separate building, which adjoins the hostel complex, for its medical facility. Doctors(Homeopathic, Ayurverdic & Allopathic), Pharmacist & Staff nurse are attending medical emergencies of the campus residents. In addition the institute relies on a few super- specialty hospitals in the city of Ropar and Chandigarh for providing medical care to its members.

Academic Programmes:

At present, the institute offers a 4-year programme leading to the Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree in three disciplines, viz., Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, with a sanctioned intake of 40 students in each. The curriculum followed at IIT Ropar provides a comprehensive technical education, with a view to produce quality engineer- scientists. It facilitates broad-based knowledge acquisition and, simultaneously, nurtures a temper of life-long learning and exploration. Students are encouraged to go beyond the classroom to conduct and carry out independent work by means of research projects, guided reading, and by allowing them to join the research activities undertaken by faculty members. The idea behind such a fashioning of the curriculum is the belief that classroom activities must be supplemented by independent study and also by individual research that broadens one's horizon and provides opportunities to bring one's ideas to fruition.

Training and Placement Facilities:

Training and placement office is equipped with Video Conferencing, Skype Facilities for interviews and interaction with the companies. Audio and Video facilities with state of art technology are available for the pre placement talks. Interview rooms, Conference room and Computer labs for conducting online tests are also made available. For the year 2014 the highest annual package was Rs 65,00,000 and average package was Rs 11,50,000.

Financial Assistance:

The institute offers Merit-cum-Means scholarship to about 25% of the students. The recipients of the scholarship are exempted from paying the tuition fee and get a scholarship of Rs.1000/- per month. The criteria for the same are based on the ALL INDIA RANK (AIR) in the JEE and Means (only those students are eligible, whose parental income is below Rs.4.5 lac per annum). Further as per IIT rules, there is a limit that the total scholarship received from all sources for a student should not exceed Rs.50,000/- per annum. IIT Ropar also provides Institute Free Studentship to 10% of the students on the basis of means only. The recipients of the free studentship are exempted from paying the tuition fee. The criterion of 10% free studentship is similar to that of MCM Scholarship. Also all SC and ST category students are given full tuition fee waiver irrespective of their parent’s/ guardian’s income. Besides these, the institute also offers merit prizes and certificates to the top 7% of the students of each 4-year B. Tech program for 1st and 2nd Semester. The value of the merit prize is Rs.2500/-. Many other organizations in India and Abroad also offer some assistance to the students of IIT Ropar.

The vivekananda global university infracture is so gud and the interrior is also have so gud and therir are many buildings course/ department and their is alsohavgud wifi in area on campus and also hae gud spped to wifi and their are many labs alloverlabs are available and all equpment are available in the labs and also have big classrooms in the campus and their are 3 big library in the campus and also have gud facilies in hostel the food quality is gud. In the vivekananda globaal university 2017 batch b.tech in civil enginerring there are 70 -80 % student are get placement and the highest package is 7 -8 lpa and the average pakage is 3 - 4 lpa and the lowest package is 2 - 3 lpa and the top recuriment company like oppo, mi, genpect etc are the top compaines. and the 80 % student are get intreship top rolled offered in b.tech.
