Campaign for distribution of artificial limbs and calipers, free food and masks made available to large number of Divyang
Jaipur, April 21, 2021- In view of the rising outbreak of Kovid-19, Narayan Seva Sansthan has consolidated its activities being conducted at the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar. The Narayana Seva Sansthan, engaged in assisting the differently-abled, established a 50-bed temporary hospital during the Kumbh Mela and provided medical facilities to the people through it.
The institute has also provided facilities of Physiotherapy, Operation Theater, Plaster Room and Prosthesis for differently abled people during the last 18 days. In addition, a prosthesis and orthotics as well as a caliper workshop were organized. During this period, 274 people for OPD and 29 people were shortlisted for surgery. The institute distributed prostheses to 323 differently-abled people and provided calipers to 132 people. Also, the institute also distributed food distribution and masks to 500 devotees daily at the Kumbh Mela.
Riya Chauhan, who hails from Dehradun, who has benefited from the services of Narayana Seva Sansthan, said, "I lost my leg as a child due to a foot infection." But my teacher informed me about the NSS artificial limb camp at Kumbh. I contacted here and with the help of the institute I got the prosthesis. Now I can stand on my feet and go to school now without any difficulty. "
Narayan Seva Sansthan has conducted all its activities in the Kumbh Mela on the basis of the message of 'Two yards away, mask is necessary' by the Hon'ble Prime Minister. During this time, the institute also fully followed the Kovid protocol with social distancing and took care of cleanliness and hygiene. This temporary hospital was inaugurated by Uttarakhand cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat.
Prashant Agarwal, president of Narayana Seva Sansthan, said, "During the operation of the hospital in Kumbh, we appealed to the Divyang people to take advantage of this opportunity and also get artificial limbs and calipers through us. During this time, many distinguished people took advantage of our services and acquired our high-quality prostheses and calipers. In this way they managed to take a strong step towards getting themselves included in the mainstream of society. Also, the institute also conducted a campaign for free food distribution at the Kumbh Mela, benefiting a large number of people. "
