G.D.Modi College of Arts was established in 1964. It is the oldest and premier college in Banaskantha District. It is permanently affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and recognized by UGC under section 2(f) and 12(b). It imparts education in the subjects of Gujarati, Sanskrit, English and Economics up to U G level and in English and Gujarati up to P G level. Not a very long while ago, Banaskantha District as a whole suffered from age old backwardness.
