Facilities
Library: The Lavale campus of Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune has one of the best media libraries of India with more than 5000 books - technical and non-technical – on Mass Media and Communication Management. Besides, it also subscribes to a wide range of national and international newspapers, magazines and journals.
Computer Lab: The computer lab at SIMC has as many as 80 Dell powered terminals that are internet-enabled. Students are assigned their individual server space and can access latest software in the market. Wi-fi campus is another feature of SIMC Pune that makes it student-friendly.
Mac Lab: For streamlined graphic and editing work, there are 20 Macintosh stations. These have been set up for professional editing and comprise of iMAC and Mac Pro models with Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro. There are 5 Avid Systems on PC platform too.
Visual Studio: The Visual Studio at SIMC Pune has a Chroma Studio as well as a huge shooting floor with a PCR room, Teleprompter Pro System, 2 studio cameras and audio equipment such as microphones like Azden SGM 2X and Sony ECM 77B that are used by professionals. It also has latest audio-visual equipments such as 4 Panasonic P2 HVX202AEN, 4 DVX-102 and 5 Panasonic Handycams.
Photo Studio: SIMC Photography Studio has 6 Flash units; 2, D-40 Digital cameras; 1, D-200 digital camera and a tripod. One can also find a colour enlarger, a black and white enlarger, a colour processor, flash meters and a Nikon Coolpix 5000 Negative Scanner at the college. The computers in the studio are equipped with latest software for digital imagery.
A whole range of recruiters visit SIMC right from Media houses, Production firms, Advertising and corporate communication agencies. Some of them are HP, National Instruments, TBWA, Hanmer, Edelman, Times of India, Indian Express, DNA, Law & Kenneth etc
