NIT Delhi ( National Institute of Engineering) is one of the 10 new NITs setup by Govt. of India during the 11th Five Year Plan. It has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by an act of Parliament of India. It aims to provide for Instruction and Research in Branches of Engineering, Technology, Management, Education, Science and Arts and for advancement of Learning and dissemination of knowledge in such branches. It is a fully funded Government Institute under the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
