About Garhbeta College midnapore, West Bengal

Garhbeta College midnapore admission, courses, fees, review, photos and campus video details.  The college has started its journey from Banerjeedanga High school with only 50 students on 12th February 1950. The college was shifted to its campus constituted by the generous donation of 12.58 acres of land by the local fighter Late Basanta Kumar Sarkar and 9.56 acres of land by Midnapur Zamindar Company. The college is marching forward with a vision to achieve its mission of catering higher education to students of Paschim Medinipur and the adjoining districts of Bankura and Hooghly. In the 67 years of its long journey started just with a corrugated sheet shade in the jangal, the college has now reached at a height and possesses long buildings, well established laboratories with sophisticated instruments and provided with other basic amenities that are essential for an institution of higher learning. Since inception the College was affiliated to the University of Calcutta with Arts and Commerce stream in Intermediate standard at first.Affiliation up to B.A.(Pass) standard was extended in 1957

Facilities

A good library with reading room facilities for students as well as for teachers is available. More then 33,000 books are available to students and staff of the college. The college also subscribes almost 15 journals for different subjects. The library is mostly enriched compared to the geographical location of the college. It is partially computerised and process of further computerisation is under progress. Efforts are being made for giving better service to students in future. Two seperate hostels , one each for male students and female students exist. Boys' hostel named Kshudiram Chhatrabas has sixty seats and the girls hostel ( UGC Funded ) , Matangini Chhatribas has the capacity of fifty students

The authority will not be responsible for that. The students must be cautious about the rules and eligibility at the time of admission.

 

All admission are provisional. Consequence upon the cancellation of their admission for reason deemed valid by this College/University, the students will not get refund of any fees except the caution deposits as per rules of the college on the dates to be notified by the college.

 

A student remaining absent for 15 consecutive working days after the commencement of classes without any valid reason will be liable to cancelled for his/her studentship and the seat will be declared as vacant and subsequently be filled up without further reference to the absentee student.
