National, March 25, 2021 - Rotary International has offered a Rotary Global Grant of Rs 1.34 crore to Narayana Seva Sansthan (NSS). The grant has been approved for the Central Fabrication Unit at Udaipur. In this unit prosthetics and orthotics are made for the disabled and they are also supplied from here. Through this unit, artificial limbs and orthotics will be distributed free of cost to the disabled through camps operated by the NSS in remote areas of the country. The purpose of establishing this central manufacturing unit was to provide an opportunity for the differently-abled to become a part of the mainstream of society.
NSS started a campaign called 'Seva Project' through Children in Georgia, Atlanta, USA in 2019 to raise funds to help the differently-abled. Through this campaign the children raised funds through community service, where they sold soda, tea, samosa, popcorn and even informed people about the 'Service Project' through 'Hugs for Free'. Sparsh Shah, who has identified the global icon as a motivator among children with disabilities, was also involved in this campaign to raise funds for the differently-abled. In collaboration with Sparsh, an amount of 40,000 dollars was collected under the 'Service Project'.
Shekhar Mehta, president of Rotary International, said, "Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working towards the upliftment of Divyang people since its inception.
