8th March 2021, New Delhi: The recruitment and training platform, Internshala has launched #UniteForHer on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Under this initiative, the aspiring students who have the will and passion to bring a positive change will get to apply to volunteering internships with organisations including Safecity, Stone Soup, TYCIA, Atypical Advantage, and, Pad Squad. The interested candidates can apply to the opportunities by 31st March 2021.
The initiative invites 10,000+ volunteers in profiles including women with disabilities champion, safety champion, tribal girl education champion, gender rights champion, sustainable menstruation champion, and menstrual hygiene champion. The interns’ responsibilities in these opportunities will range from helping out with women's safety in public spaces, work towards women empowerment, and spreading awareness about girl child education to spreading awareness around menstrual hygiene.
The internships will be short-term opportunities ranging from 1 week to 1 month. The internships do not require any specific skills or previous experience as long as the students have the passion to make a positive change. In addition to the opportunity to make a difference in the society, each intern will also be rewarded with a social work certificate.
On the launch of #UniteForHer, the founder and CEO of Internshala, Sarvesh Agrawal said, “#UniteForHer is Internshala’s bit in the long journey ahead for women empowerment in the world. The change starts with an individual and taking action is the biggest step to ensure change happens around us. To make an impact, we have joined hands with organisations working towards women empowerment, women safety, menstrual hygiene awareness, and other women-centric issues, so that together with the help of youth volunteers we can make a difference.“
