Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Avadi was established in the Defence Sector on 15th June 1964 in the campus of the Air Force Station. It is situated in the Air Force Station area at Avadi, one of the suburbs of Chennai. It is one of the oldest Kendriya Vidyalayas, and also one of the biggest with an enrolment of 2000 students in Classes I to XII. The Vidyalaya has grown over the years to its present state with the contributions of its illustrious Principals and Teachers. The Vidyalaya moved to its present campus when the building was constructed in 1977. The Vidyalaya offers Science and Commerce. There are 4 sections in Classes I to X, 2 section in Science and one section in Commerce in Classes XI and XII.
