Government Medical College admission, courses, fees, review, photos and campus video details. , Kota is situated at Rangbari Road, about 14 kilometers away from Kota junction railway station and about 10 kilometers away from Rajasthan road ways bus stand.
Before March 1992, Except Kota division, every division of Rajasthan was having a Medical College. The long awaited need of Medical College in Kota division was fulfilled by the state government by making decision for that purpose on 10.02.1992. The Govt. Medical College Kota came in the existence in March 1992 and Dr. RL Ajmera, Professor Physiology joined on 7th March 1992 as the first principal.
The first batch of 50 students was admitted in 1992-93 session and regular classes of this batch were started in ESI Hospital building at Jhalawar road Kota. This Medical College was recognized by MCI since December 1998.
After completion of the construction of its own building the Medical College was shifted to the campus with ample space at Rang Bari road in the year 1997. This campus comprises of college building, administrative block, auditorium, indoor courts and gymnasium, boys’ and girls’ hostels, guest house, faculty and staff accommodation, new Medical College Hospital and an independent branch of SBBJ.
The non clinical and preclinical subjects running in this triple story college building are Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic medicine and Preventive & social medicine. A spacious examination hall, four lecture theatres with sitting capacity of 100 students in each theater, central library and a well equipped conference hall are also situated in the college building.
Post graduate courses in General Surgery, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology and Radio diagnosis were started in year 2002 and in the specialty of Pediatrics, TB & Chest diseases and Psychiatry the post graduation started in the year 2003. At present the available courses for PG in this college are General Surgery, General Medicine, Orthopedics, ENT, Anesthesiology, Radio diagnosis, Pediatrics, TB & Chest diseases, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Microbiology.
Since year 2004 the 50 seats for MBBS course have been increased to 100 seats and since then 100 students are admitted for MBBS course every year in this medical College through central and state pre medical test.
