Historical Background:

Founded in 1934 as Arya Medical School by Dr. Banarsi Dass Soni.

Managed by Arya Samaj, Saban Bazar, Ludhiana, under the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Punjab, from 1936.
Recognized for LSMF in 1938.
Renamed to "Arya Medical School" and the attached hospital to "Dayanand Hospital" in 1939.
Established as a full-fledged MBBS College, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, in 1964.
Management:
- Managed by the "Managing Society of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana."
- Founded by Late Shri H.R. Dhanda, a prominent industrialist of Ludhiana.
MCI Recognition:
- Duly recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for the MBBS course, as well as various specialty and super-specialty courses.
Affiliation:
- Affiliated with the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab.
