The College of Agriculture, Kolhapur was established in the year 1963 under the Shivaji University, Kolhapur and started at Kasaba-Bavada, about four kilometer away from Central Bus Stand, Kolhapur. In 1968, after formation of Maharashtra Agricultural University; this College was transferred to the University. Subsequently on formation of Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola and Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri in 1969, the College was transferred as a constituent College of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri and has become a regional headquarter for Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts. The College is located at old Pune-Bangalore National Highway No. 4 with different well equipped sectional buildings.
