About CMJ University
C.M.J. University has been established by an act of (No. 4 of 2009) of state Legislature of Meghalaya as a state Private University and is empowered to award degrees as specified by the UGC under Section 22 of UGC Act 1956 through its main campus with the approval of statutory body. This University has been set up for the North East region in general so that it do not lag behind in the new Knowledge era. Consequently, the CMJ Group headed by Mr. C.M. Jha decided to set up one of the first private university in Meghalaya in 2009. It has been spread on area of more than 1, 50,000 sq ft with well furnished modern classrooms, fully quipped laboratories, well stocked library with broadband connectivity and well qualified faculty. It provides fully residential facilities both for Boys and Girls. It has a campus named CMJ University & SEMC Campus.

The University's location is in Modrina Mansion, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, Meghalaya. It is situated on a 40 acre Campus on a scenic hillock in Jorabat on the Guwahati-Shillong Highway.

Hostel Facilities - The University offers separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, which are provided within the campus with all basic facilities and security. A senior teacher of the college remains in-charge of the respective hostel for its proper supervision and control.
Computer Centre Facilities - There is a well-equipped computer centre in the University. All the systems are connected in a LAN configuration in Client-Server Architecture.
Library Facilities - The University has a well-built library with adequate number of titles of books related to Engineering and Management education both for students and teachers. It also subscribes to sufficient number of foreign and Indian research journals, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, etc.
Scholarship Facilities - The University offers assists for exceptional talent and meritorious students in obtaining scholarships from all the Governments of the North East including NEC.
Canteen Facilities - It is located in the University campus. There are also provision of stationary items, tea/coffee, snacks and cold drinks to the students and hostel boarders.
