About Banasthali Vidyapith

Banasthali Vidyapith is a Deemed University. It is located in the Vanasthali town of Tonk district of Rajasthan state. The University was a Vidhyapith earlier. Banasthali Vidyapith is a fully residential women's university which offers an integrated system. Historically, On October 6, 1935, Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri founded Banasthali to fill up the vacuum caused by the death of their daughter Shantabai. They had high expectations from her that she would work for women's causes when she grew up but destiny ordained otherwise. This institute has made use of the autonomy provided under the deemed university status. Banasthali has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with 'A' Grade (Five star Rating). The University is a recipient of SANTBAL Award in the year 2000 for the services in the field of all round education of women.

Library Facilities - The University has a Central Library which provides comprehensive resources and services in support of the research, teaching, and learning needs of the students.

Scholarship Facilities - The University provides scholarship to students such as merit scholarships, merit cum need scholarships and scholarships provided by Individual, Private Institutions.

Sports’ Facilities - There are inter-faculty / inter house competitions in the University regarding sports program. All the teams assemble at Vidula Maidan representing their faculty / houses in a colorful procession during sports events.

Other Facilities

Horse Riding Facilities - Participants take part in National Equestrian Competitions during the competition. The riders of Banasthali have good records and have had been the silver medalists in 50 km international endurance run competition.

Swimming Facilities - It is a seasonal activity to be conducted for all students of Banasthali University. More of the students learn swimming in the campus every year. The swimmers of this University participate in university, state and national level swimming competitions.

Shooting Facilities - There is a University Rifle Club and it is a member of the National Rifle Association of India. On the shooting range, training is imparted to the students for shooting skills.

Flying Facilities - It has been a part of University’s learning program since the early 1960s. The Flying Club (BVGFC) has its renewal of approval from DGCA in Dec 2008 for imparting flying training.
