A quick note for parents
Most education loans need a co-applicant, usually a parent, sibling, spouse or guardian. Lenders look at their income and credit history to decide how much you can borrow, and at what rate.
Not sure your family qualifies? Fill in the form together. The loan expert explains what each lender needs, and which options don’t need property as security.
- Steady income, shown through salary slips, ITRs or bank statements
- Good credit score, usually above 700
- Living in India (some lenders accept NRI co-applicants)
- ID and address proof, like Aadhaar and PAN
- Property or a fixed deposit, only for bigger secured loans

Frequently asked questions
What does a study abroad education loan cover?
Tuition, living costs, travel and other study expenses such as health insurance, a laptop and exam fees, up to the amount the lender sanctions.
Who can apply?
Indian students with an admission offer, or applying, to a recognised university abroad. Most lenders also need a co-applicant with a stable income, usually a parent.
Do I pay anything to EasyShiksha or UniCreds?
No. Checking eligibility and getting help from a loan expert is free for students.
How much can I borrow?
Secured loans go up to around ₹1.5 crore or more, and collateral-free loans usually up to around ₹45 lakh, with some lenders going higher.
Do I need property as collateral?
Not always. Many students get collateral-free loans based on their admit and their co-applicant’s income. Bigger amounts usually need security.
Who actually gives me the loan?
A bank or NBFC from UniCreds’ partner network. EasyShiksha connects you to UniCreds, and UniCreds helps you choose and apply to the right lender.
