New Delhi: In this epidemic also the student’s love for Korea was high spirited which was seen in the two annual events organized by Korean cultural Center India which were 5th edition of ‘Korea-India Friendship Quiz Contest 2020’ and 8th edition ‘All India Korea-India Friendship Essay Competition 2020’.
Top three winners among senior group of Essay competition and top 7 winners of quiz contest got a free trip for 6 Days and 5 Nights. Many other students of quiz contest received cash prizes of more than Two Lakhs Rupees and 41 winners of Quiz contest received total cash prizes of Rupees One Lakh Nineteen thousand (Rs. 1,19,000) and trophies on 23rd and 27th October 2020 respectively during the award ceremonies.
Shin Bong-kil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India through a video message said, ‘New learning and challenging give us passion and driving energy to overcome our current and temporal difficulties. The competitions are important initiative in this direction. And inclusion of Korean Language at the secondary level to the New Education Policy as a recommendable foreign language is a very significant measure to promote India-Korea relations, he added.

57,197 students from 323 Schools from 4 regions of India: Delhi NCR, North East Region, Mumbai and Chandigarh participated in the quiz contest and the topic revolved on various aspects of history, culture and general knowledge about Korea.
The Essay competition was held from 23th April to 18th August through open contest, divided into junior (6th to 9th class) and senior (10th to 12th class) category. The topic for junior was “How will I introduce South Korea to my friends” and “How South Korea inspires me” was for senior category.
First prize winner of Delhi NCR Quiz, Aarush Gupta, a student of Aravali International School, Faridabad said that he was motivated to learn about Korea because of his fascination with Korean culture and its similarities with Indian culture, particularly the same date of the Independence days of both the countries.
Sarvesh Prabhu, Delhi Public School, Chhattisgarh Senior 1st Prize winner of Essay comp said that “I was always intrigued about the country of South Korea and this was the perfect chance to acquire knowledge about the country with a glimmer of hope to visit the country itself. I set my self to work reading its bright history, dark mysteries and wonderful industries. I am eagerly waiting to visit the incredible country of my dreams- South Korea.
